This intimate afternoon combines tropical beauty, community connection, and real impact for the island’s free-roaming horses.
Why This Event Matters for Vieques
Vieques is home to approximately 14,000 free-roaming horses. They are part of the island’s identity — woven into beach sunsets, rural roads, and neighborhood life.
But these horses require ongoing veterinary care.
Hooves on the Ground provides:
Monthly mobile veterinary clinics
Free tetanus vaccinations (100% preventable disease)
Humane castration outreach to prevent overpopulation
Emergency and life-saving medical treatment
Every ticket purchased helps fund direct, boots-on-the-ground equine care across Vieques.
If you’ve ever photographed a horse on the beach, slowed down for a herd crossing the road, or felt that unmistakable Vieques magic — this event supports the animals that make that magic possible.

Hosted in the private coastal gardens of Casa de Crystal, this is not a large public festival — it is a curated, small gathering designed for connection and impact.

Supporting Equine Welfare in Puerto Rico
Hooves on the Ground is a Vieques-based nonprofit providing free equine health outreach across the island.
Our work focuses on:
Preventing tetanus and avoidable illness
Reducing herd overpopulation through humane castration
Responding to urgent medical needs
Educating the community about responsible horse care
This is not abstract fundraising. Every dollar raised goes directly toward veterinary supplies, medication, and on-the-ground care.
